Things I want to remember

My niece Cindy has this great way of jotting down her daughter Sofia's milesstones and anything she wants to remember on her blog. I thought that is a brilliant idea, but just never got around to do it until now...
-Nathan's language skill has grown so much the last 3 months. He now talks in full sentences (since a couple of months ago) and can name most objects that he knows in both Chinese and English.
-We are still keeping Cantonese as his primary language, but he can understand instructions in English. He picks up lots of English vocabularies from his play mates and friends. His favorite phrase in English is "No Way" which he said he learned it from Sofia (my niece's daughter).
-He started asking "Mut Yeh" (means What is it in Chinese) all the time about a month ago. Whenever he hears some noise or sees something he doesn't know or not familiar, he will ask you "Mut Yeh" again and again until he gets it down in his head.
-He is a true boy because he is obsessed with cars, trucks and trains. He has been playing with those soon after he turns one. He can identify the different kinds of vehicles, the different kinds of trucks and even some differnt brands of car.
-Nathan loves to read. That is how he spends his quiet time. He usually reads at least 2-3 books before he goes to bed. He reads when he gets up in the morning and before and after his naps. I guess reading helps him to whine down. Some of his favorite books are Thomas the Tank Engine (we got quite a few from his older cousin, Christopher) and Richard Scarry's "Cars, Trucks & Trains", "Busy Busy Town", "What do People Do All Day" and "Clifford the Red Dog".
-We are absolutely having a lot of fun together these days. I love taking him to parks, museums, play dates and other fun things because he just lights up whenever we're going out. Before I start my car to go somewhere, he will say "Thank You Mommy". That just puts a HUGE smile on my face.

Happy Memorial Day

This is one of my favorite pictures of Nathan and me. Thanks Uncle Brian
Check out my cute sock, it's match my shirt!
The two cousins love hanging out together. Can you see Nathan's 2 upper teeth? They are HUGE! They both cut through a week ago (5/18 & 5/21).

Yeah, I can crawl

Nathan surprised me and started crawling today despite of his cold (2nd one). I was expecting to see the "rock" movement first before crawling. I guess he was just anxious to move around.
He is definitely proud of his accomplishment!

See My 2 New Teeth

We finally got him to show his two new teeth in these 2 pictures. They are razor sharp! He sure knows how to use them to bite us back since Chris and I have been biting him. (we can't help it ;-)

Nice photo by Uncle Brian

Uncle Brian took this great picture. I actually wanted Brian to take a picture of Nathan's 2 new teeth, but we just can't get him to laugh hard enough to show his teeth. The 1st one came out on April 9 and the 2nd one just popped up this morning.

I'm 7 Months Old

Nathan is playing with one of his favorite toys - Baby Tad. He had this since he was a few weeks old. He loves listening to the nursery songs and the lullabies put him to sleep. Thanks to Auntie Joann for this wonderful gift.
Do you notice he is sitting in this picture? Yeah!!! This was a HUGE accomplishment because Nathan never likes to sit. During our 6-month check up, our pediatrician told me that I need to encourage him to sit at least a couple of times a day. After a few weeks of practice, he is finally sitting before his 7-month birthday. (The official date that he can sit unsupported was 4/12) Mama is definitely a happy camper!
